2010 Schedule for Mission of the Month


ST JOHN’S MISSION OF THE MONTH PROGRAM
 allows members and friends of the church to give targeted funds to specific missions that make an impact within the congregation, our community, and around the world.  All contributions can be made by writing a check to St John's Church; please put the name of the mission of the month in the memo line.  Thank you for your generosity!

  

January ∙ DONOR'S CHOICE ∙ members and friends of the church are welcome to make a donation to their favorite St John’s outreach program! Read on for a partial list of options.

 

February ∙ DIANN YAKSCOE YOUTH FUND ∙ This fund supports many programs for St John's youth.

 

March ∙ ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING Nine denominations and Church World Service build sustainable communities, respond to disasters, and minister to refugees. See www.ucc.org/oghs for additional information. 

 

April ∙ BODY & SOUL ∙ An evening of entertainment, delicious food and a silent auction to benefit our weekly ministry, The Largest Table.

June ∙ SOUTHSIDE COMMUNITY MINISTRIES FOOD PANTRY at St Paul’s Church, United Church of Christ.

August ∙ MEDIC ∙ Mercy Economic Development Internal Corporation a non-profit that uses microfinance to help alleviate extreme poverty in the developing world; and ∙ SARA ∙ Sharing America’s Resources Abroad ∙ Offers medical assistance to improve lives around the world. November ∙ GLORIA MOCK FAMILY FUND ∙ Established for members and friends of the church who are in need — rent, utilities, and medical bills during the loss of a job or other crisis.

 

December ∙ CHRISTMAS FUND ∙ Veterans of the Cross ∙ This fund provides money to low-income, retired clergy or widowed spouses. It also funds emergency assistance; pension and health benefit supplementation for retired clergy and lay persons.
